OAK BARK LEATHER BELT
A simple belt made properly.
These belts are cut from oak bark tanned bridle leather from J. & F.J. Baker, the last traditional oak bark tannery in Britain.
The leather is dense, resilient and ages beautifully - the sort of material that improves the more you wear it.
Each belt is hand made in Hove by my friend Wolfram Lohr. We worked on the design together to create something slightly slimmer and easier to break in than most traditional bridle belts, while still keeping the durability you expect from proper oak bark leather.
The result is a belt that sits perfectly with jeans, holds its shape and should last for decades.
Only six belts in this first run.

THE LEATHER
J.& F.J. Baker have been tanning leather in Colyton,
Devon for generations, using a method that dates back centuries.Oak bark tanning is slow. The hides sit in pits filled with natural tannin extracted from tree bark for many months. The process produces a leather that is firm, stable and incredibly long lasting.
The leather is full grain, meaning nothing is corrected or sanded away. Natural scars, grain variation and marks remain part of the material.
No two belts are exactly the same.
BUCKLE
Each belt uses a solid brass centre bar buckle cast at a foundry in the West Midlands, UK.
